These Walls: Armstrong Auditorium in Edmond

Acoustical engineers who have analyzed the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation's new $20 million performing arts facility believe the sound quality there will rival some of the best concert halls of Europe.

Bryant Ave. is bedecked with Swarovski crystal chandeliers, Baccarat crystal, American cherry wood, Persian onyx and Spanish marble. The building was partially modeled on the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, Calif., which was once operated by the now-defunct World Wide Church of God. The evangelical church ceased operations in the 1990s and the Ambassador was eventually sold to another church.
